My paintings are part of me and I am a part of them. They are the results of a never ending exploration of my world. |

| Reverence
for Native American art and culture and a passion for birdwatching come together
in the acrylic gouache paintings of artist Mary B. Hunt.
An affinity toward art surfaced early in her childhood
where growing up on the northwestern Minnesota prairie offered an early appreciation
of the natural world. Creative skills and discipline were honed in
the field of commercial and graphic arts on the Front Range of Colorado and
a move to the panhandle of Nebraska set the tone for what was to come.

The isolation of the area proved to be fertile ground
for introspection that led to a more spiritual approach to her creative process
and she began a series of paintings that combined both Native artifacts and
avian subject matter.
|
|
| Since that series began
in 1995, Hunt has enjoyed success in her chosen field. In 1997 she
won the Nebraska Habitat Stamp contest, was featured in Southwest Art magazine
as an “Artist to Watch” in 2002 and her work is now included in collections
throughout the United States. |
