| I feel a strong reverence for the earth
when I paint landscapes, especially when I paint plein aire. The sounds
and even smells influence my reaction to a particular scene. I've found
beauty in the flat topography of North Dakota and Nebraska as well as mountain
scenes in the Black Hills and Wyoming. Landscapes that soothe the soul, structures with personality and people caught in the moment are subjects I enjoy. I've been painting for about 12 years in oils and watercolors. I enjoy working with watercolors when I want the paint to work for me and use oils when I want more control. |
