This charming penguin like bird started it all for me. This was my first bird sculpture and my first piece picked up by a gallery. I chose the Atlantic Puffin to sculpt for quite a few reasons. First, they have been, since childhood, my favorite bird. Next because of their extreme conservation concerns and successes. Not to mention my belief that anyone tough and brave enough to live 8 months of the year in the middle of the North Atlantic deserves to be memorialized in bronze. All that being said, this sculpture brings a smile to my face.
